Avery and Kyle’s romantic villa wedding at Las Palmas Villas on the cliffs of Huatulco, Mexico
I’ll never forget the day when GRO Designs (AMAZING planner, designer and florist) contacted me, asking if I was available to shoot this wedding in Huatulco, Mexico! Me and my team had the date open, and the rest was history! I quickly started working closely with the bride, Krisi and Sidney to make this wedding come to life — prepping the photography details for this destination event. Avery and Kyle had chosen Las Palmas villas as their venue and weekend getaway for their wedding. Their contact there, Courtney, was amazing to work with as well! A gorgeous, serene cliffside retreat, over looking the turquoise blue Pacific ocean and a private beach. One plus to having a destination wedding is you have different landscapes to work with! This is a photographer’s dream 🙂
Avery and Kyle – right off the bat – were some of the coolest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with! Their adventurous spirits – plus my extreme motivation for coastal scenery – made for an amazing weekend full of loving, hilarious and crazy photographs. What wedding night ends with EVERYONE jumping into the pool, decked out in wedding attire?!? — This one! I can’t express how happy I am for their wedding to be featured! Sharing this wedding makes me extremely excited for Avery and Kyle, and thankful!
Even though it was a remote wedding, most of the vendors traveled from Dallas to bring this event to life. Being an experienced destination wedding photographer, I get this question a lot — “If I have a destination wedding, can I bring my own vendors or should I use those that are local?” Of course, you can do both wonderfully! But you’ll find that’s it’s rewarding to bring them with you! I work on weddings like this all the time, and it’s quite fun. There’s also trust in working with people you’ve worked with before. I myself, had a destination wedding. We brought in Dallas vendors for it, and it was one of the best decisions and investments we made.
I always encourage people to contact me for more advice on destination weddings, and photography for them as well. With 7 years of jet-setting experience photographing real weddings beyond, I have a passion for it and helping others achieve the wedding of their dreams. This makes me VERY excited to see this wedding published the cover of D Weddings!
Special thanks and recognition to the entire team!
